Meet Dr. Colvin
I’m so fortunate to be in this position to continue helping and supporting everyone at this amazing school. Doing whatever it takes to ensure that children learn, grow, and feel safe and included is my passion. I am happiest when I am surrounded by children and people who love and support them. At home, my happy place is in my garden, hands in the dirt. Stop by my office to say hello!
Meet Mrs. Day
My educational career began 20 years ago in Chesapeake, Va. where I taught English Language Arts for 8 years. In 2014, my family and I relocated to the OBX and I taught at Manteo Middle for 7 years. For 3 years, I also served as a reading interventionist and instructional coach at First Flight Middle.
Throughout my teaching career, I have sought out leadership opportunities and always looked for ways to learn and grow. I love building relationships with students and staff and I’m always seeking new ways to increase student engagement. There is nothing better than watching kids have fun while learning!
I earned my National Board Certification in 2018 and my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction in 2020. I also recently received my administration license in May 2024 and served as an assistant principal at Manteo Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year.
I am beyond thrilled to begin this new adventure at KHES and I look forward to getting to know and work with all of the staff and families!
